Born in Victoria, B.C., in 1964, as the younger sister of film director Atom Egoyan, pianist Eve Egoyan has been specializing in interpreting new works since 1994. She has performed the world première of many works by mainly Canadian composers. She has appeared as a solo recitalist throughout the world and has released eight critically acclaimed solo discs, of course mainly by contemporary composers, but also one disc of works by Erik Satie. Eve trained in standard repertoire at the Victoria Conservatory of Music with Anne Brayshaw and Winifred Scott Wood, followed by master classes at the Hochschule der Künste in West Berlin with Georg Sava and the Royal Academy of Music in London with Hamish Milne (Commonwealth Scholarship).
