Vandaag wordt de Deense “actrice” Brigitte Nielsen zestig jaar. Ik dacht, eerlijk gezegd, dit aan mij te laten voorbijgaan, want ik ben zeker geen fan. Maar toen vond ik op het internet bijgevoegde foto en toen heb ik toch maar eens over mijn zieltje gewreven…
Brigitte Nielsen werd vooral bekend door haar optredens in films uit de jaren tachtig, zoals Red Sonja, Rocky IV, Cobra en “Beverly Hills Cop 2″ (1987) van Tony Scott. In september 1985 was ze te zien in het blad Playboy. Later zette ze haar carrière voort in het genre van de B-films, zoals “Chained heat” van Lloyd Simandl uit 1993. Alison Darren schrijft in de “Lesbian Film Guide”: “Brigitte Nielsen seems to enjoy appearing in these films as much as we enjoy seeing her. Resembling a man in drag at all times, Brigitte plays prison warden Magdar, who rules all before her with the help of sadistic butch number Rosa (Jana Svandova). American girl Alex (Kimberley Kates) has cocaine planted on her during a trip to meet her sister Suzanne in Prague. She is arrested, tried and sentenced to ten years’ imprisonment in Raisik Prison. The prison is also a brothel engaged in making porn films and drug-running. It is a ‘model offree enterprise in the new East’, the narrator tells us. Both Brigitte and Rosa greet the new arrivals with lascivious interest, including, in this case, our wrongly convicted heroine. Things get particularly interesting an hour in, when Alex shrewdly decides that the only way she will ever get out of prison is to seduce the warden. Brigitte, by sheer good fortune, has tired of Rosa and happens to be looking for a replacement. The plot is not terribly important, though. Any excuse to get the women’s clothes off is the name of the game. Prolonged shower scenes, bedroom scenes and lots of dressing and undressing occupy most of the screen time. Superior exploitation movie.”
Daarna volgden de realityseries. Ook had ze een bescheiden loopbaan als zangeres.
Na een korte verbintenis met de Deense muzikant Kasper Winding trouwde ze in 1985 met acteur Sylvester Stallone. Dit huwelijk duurde achttien maanden. Daarna raakte men de tel kwijt. In 2006 hertrouwde ze voor de vijfde maal, als ik het goed heb.
